A third party has damaged my boat, what do I need to do? Views: 3513 This answer is rated 4 / 5

If a third party has caused damage to your boat we would normally ask that you make a claim under your own insurance policy initially. We will then contact the third party, and their insurers, and recover our costs and your policy excess.

Once our costs are recovered any no claims discount will be reinstated as appropriate.

We would, of course, be happy for you to resolve the matter directly with the third party and their insurers but we believe that claiming under your own policy initially will enable your boat to be fixed and back on the water much quicker.
