Classes Sailed:

420 Marauder Laser Solo Topper Mirror Phantom Laser

We welcome almost any type of monohull boat at SBSC, as long as it has a current Portsmouth Yardstick. Current favourites in the racing fraternity are Phantoms, Lasers and Solos, though they all race in a mixed handicap race.

Sailing is possible from Wednesdays through to Sundays all year round. The only restriction is that there must be rescue cover whenever anyone is sailing. This rescue cover is provided by the members on Saturdays & Sundays only. At all other times it must be run by those sailing.

The club runs 3 races on Sundays, starting at 11.00am (all year round). There is also a Thursday evening series starting at 6.30pm in the summer. We also hold open meetings for various classes & handicap opens, including a pursuit race in aid of the RNLI. We have also held inland national championships for the smaller classes.
