Rugby & Daventry Sailing Club was formed in May 1949 on the 16 hectares of Drayton Reservoir (also called Middlemore Reservoir on some maps) just north of Daventry. The club has a over half a century of history on the site.
We organise dinghy sailing on the reservoir, with races on Sundays for most of the year and Thursday evenings in the summer months.
Sailing courses are available at the club, which is an RYA recognised Training Centre, starting from complete beginner level. A variety of boats for children and adults are available for members to hire, easing the progression from first training course into active membership of the club and dinghy sailing.
The clubhouse has facilities for small children to play, a bar, function room and verandah overlooking the water as well as a fenced patio by the water's edge. Social events are an important part of the club, with a range of events organised throughout the year.
Membership subscriptions compare very favourably with many other sports and sailing course fees are counted towards the first year's subscription to the club. |
