Hayling Island SC (HISC) is the United Kingdom's leading dinghy sailing club, occupying a magnificent site at the entrance to Chichester Harbour on the South Coast of England. In its 80 year history, HISC has had a leading role in British sailing encouraging innovation and development, hosting Olympic, National and World class events and nurturing many generations of sailing champions. It is sited on a sandy peninsular with direct access to two superb sailing areas; either the sheltered water of the harbour or the open water of Hayling Bay - an ideal venue for national and international championships. At high tide it is possible to lay an Olympic course adjacent to the sailing club, allowing superb spectating from the new clubhouse.

There is regular weekend racing throughout the year for a range of dinghy classes including the new club keelboat, the RS Elite. In addition there are regular Youth events and Cruiser races and there is an active social sailing section.

Whether you are a dinghy sailor, wind-surfer or yachtsman, HISC offers the best possible facilities, from organised racing and safety cover to full accommodation and restaurants on site.

In March 2003 HRH Princess Anne opened the new clubhouse, recognising HISC as a premier location for sailing in the UK and an RYA Centre of Excellence.

With a similar layout, still commanding wonderful views of the harbour and the sailing, the new building provides much improved club facilities. As well as state of the art changing rooms, the new general club facilities, bars, dining room and services provide a comfortable environment for all Club members.

There is a large dinghy park with access to the harbour at all states of the tide. Winches are positioned to assist in the launching and retrieval of the heavier boats and a pontoon is available on the northern side.
