Fast Handicap Class - 14ft max ol & no trapeze.

Chipstead Sailing Club is situated at Longford lake in Chipstead near Sevenoaks, Kent.

The club offers class and handicap racing, social events, sailing training from beginners onwards, and a clubhouse with bar and lunches at the weekend.

Unicorn Magazine
The club's magazine is produced for all it's members on a regular basis. This provides news and information about what's going on at the club, upcoming events, class announcements, and other sundry items.

Classes
There are 11 classes in the club ranging from an Optimist for children to Scorpions for those who like 3 sailed boats and a handicap class with yardsticks from around 1020 to 1200 with an overall length of less than 15 feet. Apart from class races there are many handicap races during the year. Novices, Douglas Stern Bowl, Open Handicap and Herbert Chase are held over the week-end. Plus a Wednesday Evening Series a Winter Series Sunday mornings and a shorter series in the afternoon.

The Handicap fleet ranges from the Merlin Rocket with a handicap of 1022 to the Pacer with a handicap of 1193. Their start time is 10.45. Some of the boats currently sailing in this class are as follows; Albacore, Byte, GP14, Lark, Laser 2000, Leader, Miracle, National 12, RS200, Solo, Streaker, Tasar, Wanderer. Trapeze may NOT be used at any time.

Training
Courses and sail training lessons are held throughout the season. Instruction and theory in the club house followed by practical application on the lake. Courses can be taylored to individual needs but generally take place Saturday lunchtime.
