| Situated at Heybridge Essex, 2 miles from Maldon on the Blackwater Estuary with 17 miles of spacious yet sheltered sailing.
The club is just 30 minutes drive from the M25 and a haven from from the hustle and bustle of London.
Dinghy Sailors Join the active weekly racing scene from March to October, with a winter series in November and December.
Current Club classes include Wayfarers, Fireballs, Lasers, 505s, 420s Toppers and Sprites (the Club's own class). We welcome all classes of monohull dinghies.
Cruiser Racers and Cruisers We have a large sailing cruiser membership with facilities to winch out boats up to and not exceeding 30 feet LOA / 5 tons gross, inc. trailer.
Moorings are conveniently placed directly in front of the clubhouse.
For Cruiser Cruisers you define the limits. Some of our sailors hit the sea and cross the channel to France or even further afield such as participating in the ARC race. Whilst others prefer to explore the estuary and other East coast rivers with their many hidden gems and ports of call.
Sailing School and Cadet Section The Club owns a large freshwater lake where members can learn to sail, and a purpose-built classroom for dry-land instruction.
We have RYA qualified instructors
catering for all ages, including special days for cadets aged 8 to 18.
The well-established Cadet Section offers training, racing and social events for 8 – 18 year olds.
There is an annual Cadet Week which
has attracted more than 120 participants in recent years. |
