We are one of a few local clubs with a keen interest in water sports who meet at the SEASPORTS club house situated on the Promenade and having the finest view of Rhos harbour. We hold our monthly meetings, plan our race strategies and socialise in the club house. Karen our stewardess serves a nice pint and sells fresh home made rolls. The club house is open all year round with the usual licensing hours. Visitors are most welcome.
We have a dinghy section which meets most Sundays during the sailing season on the promenade in Rhos-on-Sea at the Aberhod slipway (duly named because it is located opposite the Aberhod restaurant.) Visitors and new members would be most welcome to join in with the racing.
We also have a cruising section where a number of members have moorings allocated by Conway harbour authority. The harbour is 100 yards from the Aberhod slipway where shelter is afforded by the Rhos-on-Sea breakwater. The moorings are half tide moorings giving almost 6 hours of sailing time on one tide.
The boat park is situated at Rhos Point about 200 yards west of the harbour, where the cruisers are laid up for winter.
We have strong links with Rydal-Penrhos College who are well known for their keen sailing activities and who host the Pico championships. We provide race management and guard boat cover during the championships |
